Thank you for visiting this site. I am providing this classic book to everyone online in the spirit of a man long forgotten, known as “Golden Rule” Jones of Toledo, who said, “What I want for myself, I want for everybody.”
A dear friend of mine has been studying Rhonda Byrne’s book & movie called The Secret. When she was going over the corresponding site, she came upon the reference to the book that began Rhonda on her journey. It is The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. She found an online version of it as a PDF file. As excited as someone who found a long-lost piece of jewelry, she shared this book with me.
After a couple of discussions, I searched the Internet myself. I eventually found a PDF version of the book that I downloaded, printed out, and studied.
I noticed that this PDF has made the rounds within the Internet, being slightly different at each site. Several sites offer this book for free while others offer to send you a printed version—for a fee. Seeing as how this book does not fall under copyright law (it was published before 1923 and it is out of print), it is essentially free to all. Therefore, dear reader, I’m sharing it with you.
Therefore, on the 100th anniversary of its publication (1910), I am providing two versions of the text:
The “original” version is based on the PDF that I downloaded. I have cleaned up the grammar & typographic mistakes that were made when someone decided to provide the text in electronic format (PDF). Unfortunately, the person did not have someone proofread it. The typos and errors made its reading awkward in several places; therefore, I performed some light editing so you will not stumble over the sentences like I did.
Interesting Note: The other PDFs that I found on the Internet, even though the formatting was slightly changed or links were added, all had the exact same mistakes.
However, I cannot prevent you from stumbling over the author’s language. Remember, this book was written 100 years ago. Therefore, I have created the “updated” version to make the text more palatable; that is, something we can all understand without thinking, Huh?!
In the updated version, I changed some of his wording and grammar to more contemporary terms. I also included definitions of certain words that may not be familiar. In addition, I made some of the paragraphs into bullet lists, which will help you visually see how his explanations are broken down.
Happy reading. Be well. Be positive. Be grateful.
