Technical Writing

We specialize in producing publications that are both functional and pleasing to the eye. It is important to have documentation that actually explains your product. If your customers do not understand how to use it, they should feel comfortable turning to your documentation to find out the answer before calling you.

Documentation is published using Adobe FrameMaker, the standard for the technical writing industry, and distributed as Adobe PDF files.

Microsoft Word is used for smaller documents, but can be used for publishing documentation when requested.

Illustrations are created using SmartDraw, but Microsoft Visio is also available if you already have files in that format.

Presentations are developed using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Most of our experience creating online help text involved WebWorks Publisher, but projects have also used Flare, RoboHelp, and HTML Transit.

Web sites are designed using TextPad. We prefer to work with the actual code behind your web pages (rather than use a visual editor), keeping your web pages clean and free from extraneous lines of code. Sometimes we do use CoffeeCup and the convenience it provides. We have used both FrontPage and Dreamweaver in the past.
